SeeUThere, PlanSoft announce merger

PlanSoft Corp. and SeeUthere Technologies today announced the merger of the two companies to create OnVantage Inc.

PlanSoft offers industry suppliers and meeting professionals a variety of online products for transacting business throughout the meeting procurement process. Clients include Hilton Hotels, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International and Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

SeeUthere Technologies offers a "spend management" tool designed for enterprise meeting and event management. The company's clients include Abbott Laboratories, Caterpillar, Expedia, Inc., Humana, Inc., NCR Corp. and Prudential Financial, Inc.

The new entity will consolidate the buying power of more than 400 of the Fortune 500 companies and thousands of additional corporations and associations, according to a company release. Each buyer will have access to a network of more than 40,000 hotel properties and 30,000 meeting suppliers in North America, Europe and Asia.

"OnVantage represents a synergistic merger of equals," said David Hunt, chairman and chief executive officer of PlanSoft. "Both SeeUthere and PlanSoft have been successful on their own, with each company growing quarter over quarter and year over year." Hunt will continue as chairman of OnVantage.

The OnVantage product set is designed to offer online tools and offline services to support each step of the procurement process.

"By uniting corporate buyers and meeting suppliers, OnVantage will make it easier for everyone to do business," said John Chang, chief executive officer and president of SeeUthere. "Buyers will gain greater access to information about meeting suppliers and hotels and meeting suppliers will reach quality corporate clients." Chang will lead OnVantage as the company's chief executive officer.

OnVantage will maintain its two principal offices: the Santa Clara, Calif., office will focus on the corporate market and will serve as the OnVantage headquarters, and the Twinsburg, Ohio, office will concentrate on the supplier market. In addition, OnVantage will continue to operate its offices in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, and Germany.
