Think Carmen Miranda, think Esther Williams as a mermaid—think a chic-and-cheerful take on lively Latin nightclubs from days gone by. That will be the beautiful scene guests enjoy at the 83rd annual Academy Awards Governors Ball on Feb. 27, staged by veteran event producer Sequoia Productions, caterer Wolfgang Puck and florist Mark's Garden. A chic-and-cheerful palette of amber, purple, cardinal red and turquoise will set the rhythm for the 2011 Academy Awards Governors Ball, themed to Latin nightclubs and music of the 1940s and '50s.
