Meeting/incentive vets unite to form Summit Performance Group

Conference Locators International and Summit Incentive Travel, both based in San Diego, announced today that they have combined forces to form the Summit Performance Group, a provider of comprehensive meeting and incentive services to a broad range of clients.

SPG will be owned and managed by Richard McCann, current president of Summit Incentive Travel, and Douglas H. Wheeler, president of Conference Locators International. SPG's three divisions will include Summit Meetings and Incentives, Summit Sports and Conference Locators International.

“SPG brings together two of the industry's leading companies with proven track records to create a full-service conference planning and incentive company that will provide complete incentive travel services, conference planning, site selection, staffing, sports hospitality and technology solutions," Wheeler said.

"As the corporate meetings and incentive industry continues to change, today's companies need a turnkey approach that provides expertise and direction to assure a successful meeting, incentive or sports hospitality event," McCann said. "SPG's approach is to provide comprehensive solutions to ensure our clients and their attendees will maximize performance by experiencing an outstanding meeting or event."

Wheeler and McCann also said SPG will also deliver technology solutions to clients designed to expedite site selection, conference registration, Web design and e-conferencing.

Summit Incentive Travel develops custom tailored travel programs for large and small companies. The company specializes in corporate incentive travel, event management, site selection and corporate sports hospitality at such venues as the Super Bowl, World Series, Olympics and major golf tournaments including Masters and US Open.

CLI's offerings include locating and securing group conference space and accommodations, arranging travel and transportation, team building, speakers, sports and recreational activities and conference management services.
