Isomalt Decorating Sticks Offered by Get Sassie
Get Sassie, a company founded by a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, has launched a line of isomalt (sugar substitute) sticks—called Sassie Shots—that offers an easy way to add sugar decorations to desserts. The isomalt sticks—available in Cloud, Jewel, Pearl and Glitter varieties—are designed for use with the company's sugar melting gun, which functions like a hot glue gun. The gun offers two temperature settings, for thinner or thicker consistency, and a no-drip precision nozzle that prevents mess and reduces the risk of burns, the company says. The 6-inch SassieShotz isomalt sticks are made of 28 grams of pure isomalt, precooked and ready to melt.

Cryo-Jets FX Jets Now Discounted
Global Special Effects has launched a "buy one, get one at half price" sale on its line of Cryo-Jets, which blast carbon dioxide plumes of "cryo fog" up to 30 feet in the air. The units can be hung from a truss or mounted from a wall or the floor, the company says. The carbon dioxide leaves the room clean with no residue, meaning that event planners need not be concerned with triggering smoke alarms. The units come with a 30-foot hose to connect to a CO2 tank; the jets are also available in stainless steel.
