Tankless water heaters from Takagi heat water with a heat exchanger only when the tap is on, so users pay to heat water only when needed. The device, which supplies water at a constant 120 degrees Fahrenheit, produces between 35 percent and 50 percent energy savings, the manufacturer says. Mounted to the wall, the heaters use no floor space.
