Grosh Debuts Easy-to-use Backdrop Lift System
The new Backdrop Lift from Grosh Scenic Rentals is a telescoping truss and winch system that hoists a backdrop or drape to a height of 17 feet. The system enables a team of two to set a backdrop from a standing position of 5 feet 10 inches by tying or clamping the backdrop across 25-foot sections of truss. Two units with five 5-foot truss sections can lift a backdrop of up to 25 feet wide; three units with eight five-foot truss sections will lift a backdrop of up to 40 feet wide. The system includes legs with levelers and a bubble level. The system is designed for indoor use only.

Goodwill Program Creates Recycled Cards
The Paperworks Studio, a program of Goodwill Industries, uses a team of artists with special needs and disadvantages to create one-of-kind handmade stationery papers and invitations. The studio works with recycled materials, including blue jeans, wool sweaters, flower petals and hops left over from making beer. The Paperworks line offers custom wedding invitations and holiday cards; the "wheelchair art" cards include a background that was painted using the artists' wheelchairs. Paperworks Studios' clients include Fortune 500 companies, management says.

Pans for Tilted Cakes Now Available
Baking the popular, multi-layer "topsy turvy" cakes is much easier thanks to a new cake pan from PetalCrafts. The pan, available in either round or square shape, features a unique tilting pan shape and level stand design, which work together to create the whimsical cakes. The professional-grade pans are crafted from premium 14-gauge aluminum alloy, which is then anodized to strengthen the aluminum and provide an attractive finish. A set of four pans measures 6 inches, 8 inches, 10 inches and 12 inches, with a height of 2 ½ to 3 inches per pan. Wholesale pricing is available for baking professionals.
