Although the tough economy is prohibiting many event professionals from working as "green" as they'd like to, the appeal of beautiful yet eco-conscious events remains strong.

Indeed, many clients are specifically asking their event design partners to stay away from lavish looks.

As a result, rustic elements, resuable service pieces and decor, and earth-friendly practices such as recycling have a special place today.

Notably, in the 13th annual "30 Top Event Rental Companies" list, which appears in the November-December issue of Special Events, some major rental companies say that simpler china patterns, rustic linen and the "use it again" appeal of rental itself hold major appeal to clients today.
