Tomra North America and partner Vending Innovations now offer "reverse vending" machines, which enable guests at large events to recycle their plastic, aluminum and glass beverage containers.

Guests can insert their empty bottles into the units, which resemble traditional beverage vending machines.

Event planners may wish to partner with sponsors to customize the machines with logo'd graphics or to offer coupons or other incentives to encourage guests to recycle.

The units come equipped with technology to allow the manufacturer to access them remotely for repairs and preventative maintenance.

In the event of a machine service issue, the machines automatically send e-mail notifications for service.
