Unique Tabletop Rentals, Bellflower, Calif.-based suppliers of fine china, and Resource One, a linen rental company in Reseda, Calif., plan to merge on Sept. 1 to expand their line of products nationally. The new company-Unique Event Resource-will have 80 employees and offices in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Reseda.

Unique Event Resource plans to concentrate on the U.S. market using partnerships with other rental houses throughout the nation, according to Lonny Eggleston, who owns Unique Tabletop Rentals with his wife, Marjory. Furthering the distribution network are new marketing alliances with Tablescapes in Chicago, Be Our Guest in Boston and Stamford Tent in Greenwich, Conn. Marjory Eggleston says these companies will offer the Unique Event Resource line without having to carry the large inventory.

Lonny Eggleston adds that the new company will "supply the fine goods to the trade, and the marketing partners don't have any investment. In effect, we've become a 'line of products' for the rental houses to carry."
