CSR gets growing in events Some 65 percent of corporate event planners say they are putting more CSR—corporate social responsibility—elements into their special events this year than last, according to a Special Events online poll. Oil spill spills over to meetings indutry The miseries of the huge oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico are beginning to seep into the meetings industry, with 40 percent of hotels responding to a survey last week saying they are seeing cancellations. Alfalfa sprouts recalled for salmonella Caldwell Fresh Foods of Maywood, Calif., on Friday voluntarily recalled all its alfalfa sprouts manufactured under the Caldwell Fresh Foods, Nature's Choice and California Exotics brands; the product has been associated with an outbreak of salmonella that has sickened 20 people in 10 states.
