The majority of special event professionals today say they are scaling back decor at the events they create because their clients demand it. The findings come from the latest online survey from Special Events.

When asked if they are deliberately offering decor that looks "sensible" rather than "lavish," 61 percent of event professionals say yes, and they do so because of client demand.

Twenty-five percent of respondents say they are scaling back event decor, but they do it because they believe it is the right thing in today's rough economy.

In contrast, 11 percent of respondents say they are making no change in how they create event decor.

One percent of respondents say they don't know or have no opinion.
