Culver City, Calif.-based Classic Party Rentals has announced the acquisition of the West Coast operations of high-end tabletop supplier Unique Tabletop Rentals. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, “but we paid a premium because of Unique’s outstanding reputation and solid strategic fit with Classic,” Classic president John Moran told Special Events Magazine.

Unique will continue to operate under its current name from its warehouse in Rancho Dominguez, Calif. Unique founders Lonny and Marjory Eggleston still own Unique’s East Coast operations, based in Alexandria, Va.

Founded in 1994, Unique is one of the nation’s leading providers of specialty flatware, china, glassware and accessories and counts major events including the Academy Awards and Emmy Awards among its projects.

Classic will market Unique’s variety of products through its four California locations, Moran said. “Unique and Classic are two companies focused on service, quality and variety,” he added. “We will take very good care of Unique’s customers and enhance our company’s overall offerings.”
