Special Event Professionals Predict Revenue Growth in 2002

Some 23 percent of business leaders in the special event industry expect their company’s 2002 revenue to increase by 10 percent over 2001 figures, according to Special Events Magazine. The magazine conducted the poll during its trade show, The Special Event 2002, held in Phoenix in January.

A total of 21 percent of business leaders expect their revenue to increase by 20 percent or more this year. Thirteen percent expect an increase of 15 percent, 16 percent expect an increase of 5 percent, and 18 percent expect their revenue to remain flat this year.

A total of 6 percent expect their revenue to decrease by 5 percent in 2002 compared with 2001. Two percent of respondents expect a 10-percent decrease, and 1 percent expect a decrease of 15 percent.
