TBA sells U.S. DMC network to Kuoni Leading event/marketing agency TBA Global, based in New York, and Swiss-based leisure travel giant Kuoni announced yesterday that Kuoni has acquired TBA's U.S.-based network of DMCs. TBA will continue its DMC operations in Canada and the U.K. TBA Global president and chief operating officer Lee Rubenstein said the American DMC business "is no longer central to our U.S. growth plans." "The new acquisition will be incorporated into Kuoni Destination Management and managed by AlliedTPro in the USA," according to Kuoni management …

Caterer ordered to pay for egg-related death A British caterer who supplied a dessert containing eggs has been ordered to pay £415,000 ($663,000 U.S.) to the widow of a man who died from an allergic relation. The dead man knew of his allergy but thought food at the wedding he attended would be safe because the event took place in a Sikh temple; observers of that religion do not consume eggs. The court found that that caterer—himself a Sikh—faced more guests than expected and brought in the dessert containing egg from an outside source …
