Top multi-unit event rental firm Classic Party Rentals released an announcement today that it has acquired Regal Rents and Tri-Rentals. The combined company will serve its clients from 11 locations in California, Arizona and New Mexico.

Based in Culver City, Calif., Classic ranks as No. 1 on the “Top Event Rental Company” list published by Special Events Magazine. Last year, Regal ranked No. 3 and Tri-Rentals No. 17 on the list. Combined annual revenue from all locations could top $80 million, according to estimates from Special Events.

Founded in 1979, Regal Rents operates from warehouses in El Segundo, Santa Ana and Santa Barbara. Tri-Rentals has been in business since 1973 and has locations in Phoenix and Albuquerque. Both companies are leading party rental companies serving such prestigious events as the Academy Awards and the Fiesta Bowl.

Classic will retain Regal and Tri-Rentals’ management team, sales team and staff, the company said. Regal Rents will be renamed Classic Party Rentals with changes rolling out market by market over the next nine months.

"Regal and Tri are two of the best companies in the industry with incredibly talented and dedicated team members. We will take care of our people and customers,” said John Moran, Classic’s president. “Our goal is to provide the highest quality service and equipment." Regal’s Michael Stern will stay on board in charge of the company’s El Segundo location.

All companies within the Classic network will have access to one another's inventory, the company reported. "Regal clients will have access to Unique Tabletop's [a Classic subsidiary] specialty china and Classic clients will have access to Regal's specialty linens,” Stern said. “This is a win for both Regal and Classic clients."
