New Year's Eve Wedding: Frank Event Design Puts Two Parties in One

Rhinestone rings on the teal chairback ties give the proper "Hollywood glam" touch.

When guests return to the ballroom, they find the serene look of the ceremony has been transformed via stunning teal decor to create the dining room.

Towering black vases filled with phalaenopsis orchids line the aisle.

For the ceremony, held in a ballroom at the Trump Hotel Chicago, black chiavaris with teal sashes and rhinestone buckles seat guests. The aisle is lined with mirrored boxes, black vases and hundreds of candles.

The peacock motif carries through to the seafood station, with this peacock ice sculpture.

The groom's boutonniere echoes the theme, with a teal orchid and a peacock feather.

Tall floral on dining tables included orchids, roses, bells of Ireland, hydrangeas and peacock feathers.

The multi-page ceremony programs, nestled in teal covers, feature hand-calligraphied pages and a peacock feather.

The wedding team transforms an unsightly pilllar in the ballroom into a focal point, building a stage and dance floor around it, crowning it with a chandelier, and adding fabric panels on each side. The panels did double duty--providing a backdrop for the ceremony and a clever way to hide a lounge.

The bride keeps her teal shoes, but switches from elegant heels to comfy tennies so she can dance the night away.

In keeping with the theme, the bride's hairdo includes a teal brooch and feathers.

The wedding team keys off the bridesmaids' teal dresses to create the design motif for the event--a stunning mix of Old Hollywood glamour and New Year's Eve party spiced with peacock blue accents.

Black escort cards are embellished with a silver peacock feather logo. They rest in crystal holders set atop an acrylic table filled with a solid bed of flowers.

Instead of a champagne parade, each table features its own bottle of champagne--all of which were popped in unison on cue.
