New California Adventure Reopens at Disneyland
The refurbished California Adventure theme park has reopened at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., highlighted by the 12-acre "Cars Land" area, based on the popular Disney-Pixar movie "Cars," and the Buena Vista Street entrance, which re-creates 1920s Los Angeles. Both venues, rich with backdrops, props and decor, are available for private events. Other features of California Adventure include the World of Color, a nightly water spectacular; a 10,000-squqare-foot banquet kitchen, which is available as a venue for private events; and Ariel's Undersea Adventure, which recalls classic beachfront amusement piers from the past.

Forever Resorts Offers Colorado River Raft Trip
Planners can give their guests at Las Vegas events an exciting team-building event: a three-hour raft trip down the Colorado River starting near historic Hoover Dam, followed by a beachside barbecue for groups of 25 to 300. Created by Forever Resorts, the excursion provides striking photo opportunities of both manmade wonders such as the dam and wildlife including big horn sheep, ospreys and great blue herons. Menus at the barbecue can include burgers, hot dogs, ribs, tri-tip and chicken, along with side dishes and beverages. Planners can arrange to have kayaks and canoes available for guests before or after dinner.
