Crowne Plaza O'Hare Offers Year-end Discount
The newly remodeled Crowne Plaza Hotel Chicago O'Hare Hotel and Conference Center is offering 10 percent off the total bill for events booked through Oct. 15. The hotel's newest space is the recently opened, 2,200-square-foot Balmoral Ballroom (see photo), which accommodates 225 guests and features a fabric chandelier and adjacent pre-function space with natural lighting. The 23,500-square-foot O'Hare International Ballroom—one of the largest column-free rooms in the area, according to management—accommodates receptions for up to 3,800 guests, sit-down meals for up to 2,300 and theater-style seating for up to 3,000. The hotel has renovated all 503 guest rooms and suites.

Events in Henderson, Nev., to Get Free Reception
Select hoteliers in Henderson, Nev., are offering a complimentary reception to event planners who book a future meeting and guarantee a minimum of 50 rooms. The properties are the Green Valley Ranch Resort and Spa, M Resort and Aston MonteLago Village Resort (see photo). The MonteLago has just opened its Riva di Lago Events Center, offering 4,000 square feet of indoor banquet space along with 6,000 square feet of outdoor patio space. Stowe Mountain Lodge to Debut Arts Center
The Stowe Mountain Lodge in Stowe, Vt., is slated to open additional guest rooms and an arts center in December. The addition of 173 guest rooms will bring the total room count to 312, management says. The 420-seat Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center will support lectures, presentations, multimedia displays and other performances year-round. The lodge features a 21,000-square-foot spa and wellness center, ski-in, ski-out access to more than 100 trails, a heated outdoor pool and 18-hole golf course. More than 12,000 square feet of event space is available.
