As part of its $21 million renovation, the 500-room Doubletree Chicago Magnificent Mile has unveiled more than 16,000 square feet of event space.

The private ballroom that accommodates up to 450 guests now offers mint-colored walls that complement the contemporary print carpet, mahogany trim and crystal chandeliers.

A private pre-function area is accessed by a dramatic, curving staircase.

A new event space is available on the lobby level, while meeting rooms on the second floor offer privacy and convenience for break-outs or small conferences, management says.
