Nightclub Exchange L.A. Opens Doors
Debuting this month, Exchange L.A. in downtown los Angeles is located in the city's vintage stock exchange. The 25,000-square-foot nightclub/event venue, which underwent a $5 million renovation, is available for buyout and offers four stories and four bars. The art deco-style building, which opened just before the notorious 1929 stock market crash, features state-of-the-art AV capabilities including a Funktion-One sound system, management says, and is suitable for live entertainment, corporate events, conferences and parties. The Trading Floor features a 40-foot hand-painted ceiling while the fourth-floor Board Room is accessible via a restored vintage elevator complete with an elevator operator in period costume. An events concierge is available.

Metropolitan Suite Set for July Opening
New York's Metropolitan Pavilion will open its new Metropolitan Suite next month, offering an 8,500-square-foot loft-like space in Manhattan's Chelsea district. The new venue is designed to offer contemporary style, versatility, ecological responsibility and modern venue essentials to event planners, management says. The main floor spans an entire city block with an open, contiguous floor plan, dark oak floors, neutral walls and 15-foot ceilings. Features include low-voltage LED track lighting, WiFi access, green room, catering prep facilities and direct freight access to the ground floor's all-weather, three-bay loading dock.

New York Street Reopens at Universal Studios
The famed New York Street backlot at Universal Studios in Burbank, Calif., which burned in a fire two years ago, has reopened for filming and special events. The venue—which consists of 13 city blocks of atmospheric buildings—can accommodate groups ranging from 25 to 5,000 guests. In addition to a team of special event managers, the venue offers catering services, lighting, costumes and set decor/property departments on site. The backlot has appeared in many movies including "The Sting," "Back to the Future" and "To Kill a Mockingbird."
