City View Opens at Metreon in San Francisco
The City View event space has opened on the fourth floor of the Metreon shopping center in downtown San Francisco near Moscone Center. City View offers 18,000 square feet of event space indoors, a 12,000-square-foot outdoor terrace, 20-foot floor-to-ceiling windows and panoramic views of the city skyline and Bay Bridge. Other features include a contemporary lobby, elevated DJ platforms, new flooring, adjustable "living wall" treatments, loading dock access, a coat-check room, versatile catering area, movable electric terrace heaters and new restrooms, management says. Metreon is also being refurbished and will offer the city's first Target store, dubbed CityTarget.

ACE Conference Center Debuts Updates
ACE Conference Center, located a few miles from the center of Philadelphia, has debuted its newly renovated rooms and suites, lobby area and lounge. Located on more than 300 acres of rolling hills and woodlands, the center offers 50 conference rooms and event spaces—including three amphitheaters—which can be configured to accommodate groups of up to 500 guests. Weddings on the property can be held on the Lafayette Event Deck [in photo], with catering services provided by Wolfgang Puck Catering. Management is committed to sustainability practices and maintains a wildlife habitat adhering to standards developed by Audubon International.

Kimpton Hotels Debut 'Power Meetings'
The new "Power Meetings" program at Kimpton Hotels' 12 properties in the mid-Atlantic region offers event planners a choice of three "power perks." [Pictured: Kimpton's Hotel George on Capitol Hill.] The offer is available for meetings through Dec. 30 that are booked by Aug. 31. The perks are a complimentary Continental breakfast, complimentary morning or afternoon break, 10 percent off AV, three free upgrades at the group rate, one complimentary room for every 40 rooms booked, and 3 percent off the master account. Also, "power meetings" booked in 2012 will guarantee the same program and pricing for another meeting in 2013, management says.
