Chilly Reception Available at Ice Lounge Minus 5
Ice lounge Minus 5, located in Mandalay Place in Las Vegas, is now offering group discounts for event and meeting bookings. The 2,000-square-foot lounge, which features intricately handcrafted ice sculptures and architecture, offers a 20 percent discount for groups of 10 or more guests. Maximum capacity is 50 guests. Ice carvers are available who can craft custom sculptures for events. The warm, rustic Minus 5 Lodge, themed after great arctic explorers, is located next door to the ice lounge; the lodge can accommodate up to 150 guests.

El Capitan Canyon Offers MPI Discount
Located just north of Santa Barbara, Calif., the El Capitan Canyon "campground resort" provides a beach camping experience along with amenities such as wellness treatments and special dinners, management says. For MPI members, a rate of $99 per night is available Sunday through Thursday, along with a 5 percent discount off any food and beverage package. Accommodations include yurts, a tented lodge and various outdoor sites. Activities can include golf, hiking, bike rides, Jeep tours, boat charters, whale watching and Segway rides.

Rosen Hotels Offer Meeting Discounts
Meeting planners can shave 3 percent off their master account for new meetings booked and consumed before May 31 at any of the three Rosen Convention Hotels in Orlando, Fla., management has announced. The "Save a Little Green" program applies to the Rosen Plaza (see photo), Rosen Centre and Rosen Shingle Creek. The program also benefits the environment, management says, because the three properties have Two Palm status in the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Green Lodging program. The company's Rosen Green Meetings site gives planners 10 tips for hosting green meetings.
