The venue:
4th Floor, an urban loft in an industrial building downtown, featuring large windows overlooking the city.
The event team keys on the 1920s, inspired by Coco Chanel and colonial Vietnam. The palette is black and white, with retro furniture reupholstered for the occasion.
The eclectic mix of seating.
The design team aimed for a "lounge restaurant" feeling instead of a formal banquet.
To add a twist, the event team brought in four oil barrels, painted them black and added a Chanel logo. Some guests thought the barrels were art pieces and asked where they could be purchased!
The addition of tropical palms and terra cotta pots warms the space.
White floral dominates the design.
Custom black parsons tables are topped with thick glass, beneath which are floral runners.
Vases of flowers march along a counter. Renowned local chef Yossi Shitrit collaborated with a local caterer to create eight different main courses for guests to enjoy.
Portraits of the honoree's grandchildren serve as art.
Note the floral beneath the glass tabletop.
