Planners give shuttles short shrift Meeting planners rank air and ground transportation last in importance in contributing to the success of their events, according to a study released Monday by Boston-based ground transportation management company BostonCoach, with venue, production and entertainment, and staffing as the top three, followed by food, hotel selection and finally transportation. "Transportation represents the very first and very last impression an attendee has of an event," said Catherine Chaluet, BostonCoach senior vice president of events, "and we know from previous research that the view of people who attend events and meetings is colored by the travel experience they have coming and going. By paying such little attention to the transportation, meeting planners are taking a big chance that transportation troubles will jeopardize the overall success of their events" ...
