Lighters OK’d for flights Starting Aug. 4, cigarette lighters will no longer be banned from carry-on luggage in U.S. airports, the Transportation Security Administration announced last week. The U.S. had been the only country in the world to prohibit lighters in carry-ons. Torch lighters will still be prohibited. Pittsburgh Party changes name Management of Monroeville, Pa.-based Pittsburgh Party and Tent Rental announced yesterday that the company will change its name to PartySavvy. “We want to work with customers who don’t view our service as a commodity; we want customers who want to work with us because we’re the best in the business,” said company president Dan Skena, CERP. “We are setting new, higher standards by which we will be judged.” The name change is accompanied by a new Web site that provides customers with a virtual showroom and a user-friendly “My Rentals” feature, an online tool that allows customers to compile and save a list of desired rentals along with a free quote from PartySavvy staff …
Twins leave fortune to twin festival The bulk of a nearly $5 million estate of twin farmers from Pennsylvania will benefit the Twins Days festival, held annually in Twinsburg, Ohio. The late John and William Reiff were once recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s “most identical” twins.
