Brazilian Court Introduces "Make Us an Offer"
The new "Make Us an Offer" deal from the Brazilian Court Hotel in Palm Beach, Fla., takes into account a group's existing meeting budget, management says. The offer will be agreed upon or the hotel will provide the group with the hotels best available pricing for the preferred dates, available now through Oct. 30, 2010. An alternative to larger properties, the hotel offers 3,500 square feet of meeting space including a popular conservatory overlooking the courtyard and library. The Brazilian Court Pavilion is a state-of-the-art small-meetings facility with international teleconferencing and wide-screen plasma monitors, management says. The 1920s era facility has recently completed a $35 million renovation.
Playhouse Hollywood Holds Open House
Nightclub Playhouse Hollywood in Los Angeles hosted its "Rock Circus" showcase last week, created by Events by Fabulous, to display the venue's event capabilities. The 10,000-square-foot Main Room offers three bars and can accommodate 600 guests. The 2,000-square-foot VIP Lounge offers one bar and can accommodate 200 guests. Also available are the Sweet Love Hangover space (for 75 guests) and The Lot (300 guests). Services include catering, theme creation, entertainment, security, parking/valets, publicity and outreach, and furniture/prop rentals.
Battelle Grand Debuts at Columbus Convention Center
As part of a $40 million renovation, the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, has opened Battelle Grand, the largest ballroom in Ohio, management says. The 74,000-square-foot ballroom offers 50,000 square feet of space on the main floor and 24,000 on the mezzanine. It features floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the city and a LED ceiling lighting system capable of 65,000 different color combinations. The facility also offers the newly decorated Center Lounge gathering space within the food court and shops area. Aramark provides catering services at the center.
