Try it!

"I was shocked with the amount of planners that actually got on the ground and wanted to participate in this fun photo op," Fox says. "This was a great 'Instagramable' photo station."
Make it 'epic'

"I wanted to design a booth that represented FDF and our style," Fox explains. "We can create any type of event but when it comes to spilling out our hearts, we 'Do Epic Shit.'"
FLoral plus neon mix

"I wanted to create a space that guests can walk into and be transported somewhere else," Fox says. "I am currently obsessed with the combination of fresh floral and neon lights. Our entire booth was covered in foil--and this took two full days to install!"

"One of our favorite things to do at FDF is to create interesting and never-before-seen food stations," Fox says. "We love giving guests an experience they are going to walk away with feeling like they just saw a piece of art that inspires them."
'Boot camp' food station at Opening Night Party

"This was originally a food station that was turned into a backdrop for table service," Fox notes. "I wanted to create the essence of boot camp in San Diego. These are army boots that we picked up from the Salvation Army. We attached them to the towers and hung Edison rope lights down in between them to mimic the 'over the wall' obstacle course you must complete in boot camp."
Logo in moss, paper

"I have been obsessed with moss and paper installations," Fox says. "So I combined my two obsessions to create an interesting backdrop for our logo. The white in the photo are miniature paper cranes. We created geometric shapes with various colors and textures of moss."
1960s food setting

"This is our wood crate food station," Fox explains. "This area of the ship was to represent the 1960s in Vietnam. Guests were able to grab small bites on plates placed within each crate. We added fans and tropical leaves into each box."

"As mentioned, we are a little obsessed with paper art installations," Fox admits. "These are hundreds of paper airplanes all strung together to create a canopy over the L3 section of the Midway."
To modern times

The USS Midway takes guests from the 1940s to modern day. "On the flight deck of the Midway, we created a more modern space to represent where the Midway is now," Fox explains. "This is a custom drink wall with a gold alligator fabric print, acrylic shelves, and a custom art piece in the center. The art piece is made of gold moss and paper cranes."

"We love spray-painted flowers," Fox says. "These white anthuriums got a nice gold dip!"

Bring in the 1940s

As guests arrived at the Midway Opening Night Party, "they walked into the 1940s area of the ship theme," Fox explains. "We created a lounge with Bright Rentals and used a unique backdrop to bring the theme to life. We hung sections of corrugated metal with vintage photographs and 'pinup' posters. We also had matching 'pinup' poster pillows on the lounge couches."
Closing Night Party

For the TSE 2019 Closing Night Party at Parq, the front section of Parq nightclub was turned into a "neon jungle" theme. "We created large floral arrangements with green neon rope wrapped through them," Fox explains. "We also placed green neon rope through out the walls in the front entrance. Social Lights helped us create this look on the walls."

Going on safari

At TSE's Closing Night Party, "The back half of the club was turned into an 'African Safari' theme," Fox says. "We wrapped existing columns with bamboo and attached various sizes of faux animal heads spray painted in different colors." Even the ladies room got the treatment, transformed into a 'Flamingo Room' with painted tropical leaves, "bugs" painted gold, pineapples painted pink, and everything wrapped in pink LED wire.
Corporate event with 'beach' theme

Fox Design Firm is also busy with many other clients. For this corporate event at the San Diego Convention Center, the Fox team turned to its team of craftsmen and prop builders. "This client wanted to re-create the Ocean Beach pier," Fox explains. "So we designed and built a 40-foot boardwalk with Edison lights, plants and sand. We even created the exact gates you pass through on the pier. The conference slogan was custom-branded on the front of the gates."
Super sets

For another corporate event in San Diego, the team created this set: "Set design is another passion of ours," Fox says. "We have built sets for festivals, streaming studios and event stages."
'Steampunk Cirque'

Also from the Fox team, this "steampunk cirque" event. "The entrance is a great way to start the mood for your guests," Fox explains. "We were thrilled about how this one turned out." The Special Events Advisory Board was too--it gave the event a 2019 Gala Award nomination.
Staying on brand

The Origins cosmetics brand turned to Fox Design Firm for this lovely launch. "Our clients also use us when they need a unique approach to their brand and a memorable product launch," Fox says.
