As part of a $55 million-plus renovation, the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver [British Columbia] has added 8,000 square feet of event space, including eight new meeting rooms.
The new event space is in a dedicated wing and an easy connection to the original Discovery Floor and historic conference floor. Converted from former office space, the space boasts expansive foyers and rooms (most with natural light) in a serene palette of sandstone, blue and rust.
The revamp is one more step in a program that will see the hotel completely renovated for its 80th anniversary in 2019.
With the addition of the Discovery Floor, the hotel now offers 24 function rooms, two grand ballrooms, and 63,000 square feet of flexible space, all within a 10-minute walk to the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre. All meeting rooms are both wireless and wired with ADSL and ethernet technology.
Planners who book and hold a meeting before December 30 will receive 25 percent off the room rental, complimentary high-speed internet access, infused water, and a gift card for Afternoon Tea for Two (with a minimum spend of $5,000 on food and beverage), the hotel says.
