Survey Shows Food Distributors Ready for Y2K A survey of 82 grocery wholesale and foodservice distribution companies by Falls Church, Va.-based Food Distri-butors International shows that 100 percent of respondents have a year 2000 compliance program in place.
According to the survey, 94 percent of the respondents describe themselves as "confident" or "very confident" that they will be able to supply orders without disruption through Jan. 1. "What this means for restaurants, caterers and other institutions is that the suppliers will be able to meet the demand," says Bob Gatty, vice president of communications for the group.
The surveyed companies represent more than $118 billion in annual sales.
