Aztec Tents to share engineering plans

In a move that could save its clients time, money and headaches in obtaining structure permits, Torrance, Calif.-based tent manufacturer Aztec Tents announced last week that it will begin distributing engineering designs free of charge to its clients with each purchase of its Series 2000 pre-stressed portable tension pole tents.

The permitting process is growing thornier for event planners as local officials demand the engineering specifications of proposed temporary structures, ostensibly to ensure safety and legal compliance. By providing engineering schematics for its tents, Aztec aims to streamline the authorization process for event planners, the company said.

"By sharing these plans, we hope to make the Series 2000 pole tent even more appealing," said Alex Kouzmanoff, Aztec Tents' national sales director, "because we can now instantaneously deliver its technical specifications directly from the engineer to our clients."
