Europalco, the largest provider of solutions for events and shows in Southern Europe, has won the highly acclaimed "Rental, Staging and Virtual Production Business of the Year" category at the illustrious AV Awards 2023. This year’s awards ceremony was held at the famous Evolution London venue in Central London, surrounded by a breath-taking setting, with 1,400 people attending the gala presentation dinner. The AV Awards, organized by AV Magazine, are known as the top honour in the AV (Audiovisual) industry, setting the standard for the best professional practices and excellence. It celebrates the remarkable accomplishments of individuals, companies, projects, and technology in the AV, events, and production sectors. The awards are independently judged by a panel of senior representatives from end-user organizations, consultants, and key industry players.
People on the Move
Gearing up for a busy trade show season in 2024, CORT Events is pleased to announce two important leadership moves with the promotions of Derek Argo and Sarah Mainhart. Derek Argo, now the Strategic Business Development Manager, brings an extensive background working with the company's General Contractor and Exhibit House partners. In his 20-year tenure at CORT, he has consistently demonstrated leadership skills in various roles, including his recent position as a strategic account manager. Sarah Mainhart, the newly appointed National Trade Show Manager, will leverage her in-depth understanding of General Contractor and Exhibit House partnerships from her prior role and is poised to expand CORT Events’ presence and revenue in these segments, Sarah's expertise, collaborative spirit, and business skills will undoubtedly contribute significantly to the company's success.
Hot off the Press
Christie® MicroTiles LED® took the stage with Something Corporate during the band’s headlining reunion show at Las Vegas’ House of Blues on October 20, and their main stage performances at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds on October 21 and 22 as part of the When We Were Young festival. Vocalist and pianist Andrew McMahon performed on a piano fully wrapped in Christie MicroTiles LED, which displayed images and lyrics from the band’s beloved catalog. Kevin “Clutch” Page, principal, Procraft Media, who is also the bassist in Something Corporate, led the integration of this one-of-a-kind project. Something Corporate returned to the stage after a 13-year hiatus.
Women in AV/IT (WAVIT), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering women in the AV, IT, and digital signage industries, proudly present a thought-provoking luncheon titled "Empowering Women in Digital Signage: Best Career Advice I’ve Ever Received." This inspiring event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 5th, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Keynote Stage during the Digital Signage Experience (DSE). The DSE explores every aspect of digital and interactive display technology, from concept and design to content and analytics. The luncheon aims to create a platform for women in the dynamic digital signage industry to connect, learn, and be inspired. The panel discussion, "Best Career Advice I’ve Ever Received," will feature accomplished women leaders and experts sharing their “recipes for success” and the guidance that propelled them to success. Attendees will be treated to a lunch buffet and can interact, ask questions, and seek advice to foster a supportive community within the digital signage industry.
