Events are already ready to roll in New Orleans for The Special Event 2018, which runs Jan. 30 -Feb. 1 at the Morial Convention Center.
Yesterday, volunteers from Event Pros Take Action gathered to help rebuild the home of a local family still fighting to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. EPTA co-founder Susie Perelman will be honored with the Special Events Carbotti Gala Award for her longtime commitment to philanthropy at the Gala Awards, slated for Feb. 1.
Another highlight yesterday was the TSE Connects party, held at the New Orleans Board of Trade. The event immersed guests in New Orleans’ famed old red-light district while giving them the chance to mingle with industry colleagues and enjoy culinary delights from Pigeon Caterers, entertainment from Degy, and showgirls from Champagne Creative Group.
Today’s event slate at The Special Event will bring the launch of education sessions, including the courses “How to be a Selling Machine,” “8 Social Media Campaings Event Pros Should be Running,” “The Top 10 Ways to Branch Out on Your Own in the Events Industry,” “Apply Themes of Festivalization to Your Next B2B Event,” and “Free Your Time and Success Will Follow.”
Closing out the day will be the Opening Night Party, which runs 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at famed Generations Hall.
