Events DC, the official convention and sports authority for Washington, DC announced that the Walter E. Washington Convention Center is the recipient of a Silver Stella Award for being the best convention center in the Northeast region by Northstar Meetings Group. The Stella Awards are the meeting industry’s highest honor, recognizing hotels, convention centers, conference centers, airlines, cruise lines, destination marketing organizations (DMOs), convention and visitors bureaus (CVBs) and destination management companies (DMCs) that consistently deliver quality service and innovation to meeting and event professionals.
PRA, a leader in the Business Events industry, was named Best Destination Management Company (DMC) and recognized with a Stella Award from Northstar Meetings Group. PRA was among 242 organizations from around the globe being honored for consistently delivering quality service and innovation to meeting and event professionals. This marks the 7th consecutive year PRA has been named Best Destination Management Company.

Hot off the Press
Today, the Events Industry Council (EIC) invites global business event professionals to participate in a survey that will help inform the evolution the Certified Meeting Professional standards and exam. The survey is available here through November 12th. Since 1985, the CMP program has enhanced the profession as well as the knowledge and performance of meeting professionals globally, creating a community of dedicated lifelong learners leading and modeling the way for all. Its purpose is to promote the value and standing of the meeting profession and develop constant standards of practice. Current CMPs will receive 1 CE for completing the survey. This credit will appear in their CMP profile if their name and email are provided upon completion of the survey.
