ISES EVENTWORLD 2004 SENDS EDUCATION TO TOP OF THE CLASS

MIXING EDUCATION WITH lively networking opportunities, Eventworld 2004 featured more than 30 informative sessions, ranging from business development to business etiquette.

The strong focus on education proved popular with attendees, ISES leaders said. “I've got nothing but positive feedback on the education content of the sessions,” noted incoming ISES president Dale Harmon of Plants Alive, Silver Spring, Md. “People are happy with what they took away in new ideas and contacts, and feel it was worth their time to have participated. My only problem was it was all over too fast!”

Along with session time, Eventworld guests enjoyed parties including the “Red Hot Chicago” welcome event at the city's landmark Navy Pier and the glittering Esprit Awards gala, emceed by comedian Tom Dreesen. Besides recognizing individual and team achievement in special events, the Esprits honored past president David Spear, CSEP, of Classic Effects in New Orleans with the Klaus Inkamp lifetime achievement award.

Eventworld's key to success, according to conference committee chair Kathy Miller of Total Event Resources, Inverness, Ill., was teamwork. “It's not about me, it's not about one individual or the Hyatt — it was all of it together,” she said. “The synergy is so dynamic. We all had the same purpose — to make this program a success.”

“I have been flooded with e-mails and letters following Eventworld 2004 stating that this conference was by far the best our association has ever produced and attendees left feeling proud to be a part of this industry. This should make all ISES members proud!” added immediate past president Steve Kemble, Steve Kemble Event Design, Dallas. “After the strong success of Eventworld 2004, we are expecting to break all records for our 2005 conference!”

Eventworld 2005 takes place Aug. 11-13 in Los Angeles.
