JBW Productions Columbus, Ohio Capital Holiday Lights 1997 was a free 12-day event in downtown Columbus. The winter celebration turned the city into a wonderland featuring a laser-light show with fireworks, live performances, interactive activities, costumed characters and events throughout the streets of the city. Several evenings were set aside to honor the holiday traditions of Hanukkah and Kwanzaa.
BASS Greensboro, North Carolina This weeklong fishing festival marked the 30th anniversary of BASS Inc. Highlights of the event included the annual fishing competition, a laser-light show, a free outdoor show featuring boats and angling equipment, and a grand finale that included the sudden drop of a mammoth American flag.
Event Management Company Madison, Wisconsin Hughes family members wanted to honor their 150-year tradition of farming in Wisconsin and to join the state's sesquicentennial celebration. They turned to the event planner in the family, Andrea Hughes, and 11 months later, their family farm became a tourist attraction. The focal point of the event was a 10-acre maze cut into a cornfield featuring 2.5 miles of paths that formed the state of Wisconsin. Hospitality tents, helicopter rides and a petting zoo rounded out the event.
