FASTRACK Los Angeles-based Academy Tent and Canvas introduced its Fastrack frame tent structure in February. The new modular tent works like a structure, installs like a canopy and can withstand 70-mph winds, the company says.
The tent spans up to 50 feet in width. "This will allow party rental stores to provide larger outdoor facilities without the need to use pole tents or clear-span structures," Academy CEO Tom Shapiro says.
ENVIROTENTS Surrey, British Columbia-based Tentnology has introduced the first environmentally friendly tents, made with 100 percent recyclable and toxin-free industrial fabric, according to vice president Suzanne Warner.
"The current international-standard industrial fabric that is used by all manufacturers for event tents contains PCBs, a known carcinogen to the environment," she explains.
WORLD WALLS Schenectady, N.Y.-based NTI Global's custom-printed sidewalls are finding new uses, according to Terri Demers, graphic image specialist.
She says many clients supply an artist's rendering of a new facility to be printed on a World Wall and displayed at the facility's groundbreaking ceremony.
On the horizon, marketing director Mark McQuillan says he is working on ways to create three-dimensional images on World Walls.
THE PRESTIGE SERIES Next spring, Anza Tents of Torrance, Calif., will market its Prestige series of high-peak tents certified to withstand 70-mph winds. President Ralph Manuel says the tents will be available in 40-, 50- and 60-foot widths.
The 60-foot-wide tent will have a 29-foot peak, without the use of quarter poles. "This tent will offer the industry a high-peak contemporary look that will meet the ever-increasing demands of local and state building codes," he says.
SUMMIT STRUCTURES Denver-based The Wright Group/Rent-Rite West represents Summit Structures - permanent-tension structures available in various sizes for music, sports and storage venues, says Brent Hogan, national sales and marketing manager.
He says the structures are economical because they use steel beams instead of aluminum.
DUAL-EXPANDABLE TENTS Torrance, Calif.-based Aztec Tents & Events has introduced the dual-expandable tension tent, which allows an event producer flexibility in a tent's width and length, according to Alex Kouzmanoff of Aztec. "Normally with a 100-by-100-foot tent, you can expand in [only] one direction." He says the tent will save rental houses money. "People can have multiple sizes in a tent without buying different tents."
