It’s hard to imagine a high-end event design with two of the most popular decor aspects: drapery and chandeliers. While each a beautiful piece in itself, together they have the ability to transform a simple room into a dream come true.
While these two decor features are equally vital to a gorgeous event space, their styles tend to change with the seasons alongside the overall trends we see in the event industry. Check out what’s trending for drapery and chandeliers below.
DRAPERY ADDS DRAMA
Incorporating drapery into an event is the perfect way to bring a level of dynamism into the space. Drapery makes for great backdrops and is ideal for drawing attention to a certain area, such as a stage or a lounge area. In addition to being a statement piece, drapery also adds a pop of color and texture through the fabric itself, as well as the tie-backs.
These days, we’re seeing chiffon everything, especially in weddings. More and more couples are opting for the light, flowy fabric, as it carries an essence of airiness and romance. Although a simple white look has always been the go-to choice for chiffon, we’ve actually seen more requests for neutral hues such as gray, blush and champagne.
CHANDELIERS ADD CHARM
Chandeliers are our love language at Fantasy Sound. We love everything about these glorious pieces, and with good reason. These hanging beauties come in all shapes, sizes and styles to match any event theme, so the sky really is the limit.
Lately, we’ve been seeing a lot of the "bling" factor in demand—and the bigger, the better!
Crystals are a major trend right now--when paired with a lighting fixture, crystal causes the light to shimmer all over the space for a magical effect. Couples want statement pieces that offer the most bang for their buck, so size surely matters when it comes to chandeliers.
In addition to large and glitzy pieces, a mix-and-match chandelier arrangement has also been on the scene. Choosing different sizes and styles of fixtures gives a space a unique and eclectic feel that is certainly fashionable in today’s event world.
A lot goes into the creation of a perfect event, from the playlist to the catering to the venue itself. Chandeliers and drapery may seem like a small part of the design, but don’t discount their significance in a truly magical space!
