Constance Romweber Confections uses nothing but high-end ingredients such as couverture-quality chocolate to create striking desserts and edible dessert buffet decor pieces. The decor pieces are essentially giant candy bars covered in jelly beans that are disguised as topiary [see photo at left], the company says. The pieces are intended to be taken apart and eaten at the end of the event or at the after-party. The company has also has constructed a 6-by-9-foot dollhouse made of white, milk and dark chocolate.

Fast Foam Machine New from Global Special Effects
New from Global Special Effects, the Foam X-Stream II Pro-Porter unit can completely fill a 6,000- to 8,000-cubic-foot room with special effects foam in just 8 to 10 minutes, the company says. The unit, which weighs only 40 pounds, drops the foam directly below the machine. It is Actors Equity-complaint and comes with a limited lifetime warranty, according to the company. The unit can operate on 110 or 220 volts and features built-in eye hooks so it hangs up easily.

Kitchit Brings Professional Chefs to Private Parties
The new Kitchit service arranges for professional chefs to create "bespoke" dining events for private events. Clients can work with the chefs to develop menus at various price points, from a five-course menu with wine pairings to an afternoon vegan cooking demonstration for a corporate group. The client can explore the company's website to see which chefs are available, while Kitchit handles billing scheduling and logistics. The service launched in San Francisco and is now available in Los Angeles as well; it will debut in New York on May 1.
