A genuine Venetian masked ball in a genuine 16th century Venetian palace? And on the Grand Canal no less? This iconic event experience can be yours, thanks to the event team from Arête.
The Arête team is now taking reservations for its 2015 balls, which will take place during Venice Carnival, Jan. 31-Feb. 17. The atmospheric events include the Enchanted Palace Ball, where the "400-year-old Master of the Palace" will hosts guests, and the Valentine's Grand Carnival Ball, where Casanova himself greets you.
The balls begin with a boat ride from guest hotels to the palace venue and include cocktails, live music, dinner and an after-party with professional dancers.
Guests are encouraged—make that required—to dress appropriately, which includes a Venetian costume or evening dress with a mask. The balls can host up to 300 guests each night.
Event mastermind Tova Wald explains the mystery of Venice: "When we are in daily life, we do everything within our boundaries. But once we have a mask, or a costume from a different era, we become what we choose to be."
