All 969 guest rooms at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, Calif., are going through an upgrade, which will roll out in phases from 2010 through 2012. The large rooms—which average 400 square feet—will feature a contemporary look along with distinctive touches such as fiber-optic headboards displaying the Disneyland skyline lighted with fireworks. The rooms will offer high-speed Internet access along with eco-friendly features such as low-flow toilets, occupancy sensors and energy-saving windows. Now open at the property is the 1,600-square-foot, two-bedroom Mickey Mouse Penthouse (see photo), replete with whimsical Mickey Mouse decor and a panoramic view of Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure. Also available is the Pirates of the Caribbean Suite. The property includes a 136,000-square-foot convention center.
