Disneyland Hotel Debuts Blue Sky Suite
New in the Fantasy Tower at Disneyland Hotel, Anaheim, Calif., is the Blue Sky Suite—a 3,000-square-foot suite designed to encourage "blue sky" thinking. Suitable for meetings or receptions of up to 15 attendees, the suite offers three distinctly different meeting environments: a "living room" space with sofas and plush chairs; an adjoining room with a circular table seating 10 for meetings and meal functions; and a more traditional area for brainstorming. In the heart of the suite is an open-air lanai. Built-in AV equipment includes three TVs, two of which can be programmed to show presentations simultaneously. A hideaway king-size bed and private bah permits overnight accommodations.
Gaithersburg Marriott Opens Lakeside Ballroom
The Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center in Gaithersburg, Md., opened the county's first lakeside event space last month with the new Lakeside Ballroom. Featuring floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of the nearby lake, the venue offers 3,372 square feet of flexible indoor space and a 2,000-square-foot outdoor terrace. The design stresses natural elements including walnut panels, leaf-patterned carpeting, and translucent chandeliers with "petals."
