Melia Atlanta Hotel Debuts Renovated Sky Penthouse Space
The Melia Atlanta hotel has opened Sky Twenty Five, a dramatic event space occupying the entire top floor of the 25-story midtown Atlanta hotel. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of the city skyline, of Centennial Park and into Bobby Dodd Stadium where Georgia Tech plays football. All told, the property offers 502 guest rooms and more than 31,000 square feet of flexible meeting and banquet space divided among 21 rooms. The Georgia Ballroom, at 6,120 square feet, can accommodate up to 700 guests. Melia Atlanta features free WiFi internet access and a luxury rooftop pool and lounge.
New Meeting Space Offered at Napa's Whitehall Lane Winery
The family-owned Whitehall Lane Winery in St. Helena, Calif., has opened two newly remodeled corporate meeting locations at its Napa Valley estate vineyard. The new Barrel Room provides indoor and outdoor seating for 70, as well as a full commercial kitchen and wine-tasting from the Whitehall barrel-aging wines. The revamped Reserve Room is suited to meetings of 14 guests or fewer. Set back from the winery operation in a historic home, the Reserve Room offers an updated, open layout, full kitchen, a deck and second-story views of nearby mountains. Also available is the Lane Club Room (pictured), which accommodates 50 for receptions and 32 for seated meals. The winery has established relationships with Napa Valley caterers and chefs and can arrange for breakfasts, lunches and dinners for corporate groups.
Venue Scottsdale Completes $1 Million Upgrade
The Venue Scottsdale, a dedicated event venue in Old Town Scottsdale, Ariz., recently completed a $1 million remodel of its 29,000-square-foot space, replacing the former "New Orleans" theme with a modern, upscale look. The remodel includes Israeli limestone work throughout the venue, granite countertops, new doors and flooring, a new HVAC system and an upgraded AV system. The Courtyard area, with its built-in stage and dance floor, is ideal for concerts and special events. The venue has played host to events ranging from weddings and corporate events to charity galas.
