Ballroom Renovation at Hilton Philadelphia
The Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue in Philadelphia has announced the grand reopening of its Garden Ballroom after a $1 million renovation. The 9,000-square-foot ballroom—one of the city's premier locations for weddings and other special events—can accommodate up to 200 guests. The property, located near downtown Philadelphia, offers 209 guestrooms featuring high-speed wireless Internet access and panoramic views of the city skyline. It features 35,000 square feet of ballroom, function and meeting space, including two ballrooms large enough to accommodate up to 1,000 guests and 16 multifaceted meeting rooms designed for maximum functionality.
Saphire Group Unveils Venue Redesign
Saphire Event Group of Sharon, Mass., has completed a renovation and redesign of Saphire Estate, its lakeside property on Boston's South Shore featuring a private beach, gardens and a courtyard. The renovation included an expansion of the size and capacity of the main ballroom, which now accommodates up to 270 guests in a room with elevated ceilings, airy windows and an 11-foot stone fireplace. Saphire Event Group offers a portfolio of four distinct event spaces, all on Boston's South Shore, for weddings, corporate meetings, galas and other special events.
Orlando World Center Marriott Offers 'Sweet' Deal
In honor of its senior pastry chef being named to represent the United States at a worldwide pastisserie competition, the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Fla., offers its "sweet meetings" deal to event planners. Planners who book a new meeting by June 30, 2012, to be held prior to Dec. 30, 2013, are eligible for a complimentary meeting planner butler, a rebate of up to 5 percent on the master bill on room revenue, 20 percent off AV, a complimentary dessert at a reception or dinner, and triple Marriott Rewards points. The 200-acre property offers 2,000 rooms, six swimming pools, 10 restaurants and a championship golf course. The 105,000-square-foot space Cypress Ballroom (in photo) is the largest pillar-free resort ballroom in the U.S., management says.
