'08 has been great for some event planning companies — mega events such as the Summer Olympics in Beijing and the U.S. presidential conventions are boosting forecasts overall. Our respondents — who produce everything from corporate confabs to fundraisers to social soirees — predict they will stage 7 percent more events this year than last and will see an 8 percent boost in revenue.
