Swissotel Chicago Wraps $10 Million Renovation
Chicago's Swissotel has completed a four-month, $10 million renovation of its meeting and lobby spaces. The property offers a total of 65,000 square feet of state-of-the-art event space, which now features a modern, monochromatic feel that mimics the 38,000-square-foot Event Centre, which opened in 2009. Options include the 14,000-square foot Zurich Room and Vevey, Montreux and St. Gallen rooms—nearly 12,000 square feet that can be configured in several different salons. The property will be the first to offer event planners and their guests Nervana's Bonfire events management app, which tracks schedules, flights and presentations, connects guests via s social site, and sends alerts for changes in scheduling, according to management.
New Look for Ballroom at L.A.'s Hyatt Regency Century Plaza
The 25,000-square-foot Los Angeles Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles features a fresh look following a $1.3 million renovation. The hotel now offers new carpet, paint and wall coverings throughout the California Level, which includes the Los Angles Ballroom, the 23,000-square-foot California Showroom exhibition space, and a series of breakout rooms totaling 7,500 square feet of event and meeting pace. A complete overhaul of the hotel's original 1966 chandeliers has increased lighting and provides better visibility throughout the space, according to management. The Los Angeles Ballroom can accommodate up to 2,100 theater-style and 1,800 for seated banquets.
Ritz-Carlton Battery Park Debuts New Meeting Space
The Ritz-Carlton Battery Park in New York celebrates its 10th anniversary with a complete transformation of its entire second floor meeting space. The hotel's Ritz-Carlton and Manhattan ballrooms now feature custom carpeting, wall coverings, drapery and furnishings in hues of chocolate, gray and aubergine. The second floor remodel offers sweeping views of New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty. Located near Wall Street and the World Financial Center, the hotel provides 298 rooms and suites along with the award-winning 2 West dining room.
