Imagine a Great Wall of China made of colorful parasols and thrilling entertainers--guests saw it all at the 2015 Daffodil Ball from Alison Silcoff Events and partners including Fairmont the Queen Elizabeth and Decor and More. The gorgeous event won a Gala Award in January from Special Events magazine.
Despite the constraints of a tight budget, the Peninsula Chicago team treated 1,200 guests to a private event revealing the hotel's multi-million room renovation. Although many function spaces were already in use, attendees visited a variety of themed spaces within the property, including a "Tastefully Thai" area and "Urban Chicago"; the menu included everything from strawberry-yuzu terrine to lobster corn dogs.
The event is a 2016 Special Events Gala Award nominee.
To raise awareness and funds to build the Education Center at The Wall, a proposed facility on Washington's National Mall honoring the sacrifices of veterans of the Vietnam War and other conflicts, Chromis Event Strategies and team worked within a tight budget to bring the center to life in a grand historic building via displays and a message-driven program.
A destination wedding from High Rise Events takes over the Empire Polo Grounds--site of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival--and transforms it into a stunning, flower-filled wedding for 475 guests. And the grand finale: a midnight carnival complete with carousel. The event just won a 2016 Gala Award from Special Events magazine.
No boring ballroom for this hospital fundraiser. Future Affairs Productions takes a working airplane hangar and transforms it into a stylish safari on the Serengeti for 550 guests--and wins a Special Events Gala Award at The Special Event 2016 in the process.
