Hot Off the Presses

Sprouthouse is now the official agency of record for The Cedar Room, a private event venue in downtown Charleston, SC, offering authentic charm and a one-of-a-kind setting for all celebratory occasions, including weddings, receptions, seated dinners, corporate gatherings, and more.

Known for its open and airy interiors, the space features an industrial aesthetic with historic wood columns, reclaimed hardwood floors, and other original elements of the Cigar Factory, which was built circa 1881. Rustic brick walls frame floor-to-ceiling windows that reveal an abundance of natural light and quintessential Lowcountry scenes, including the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge and beautiful Cooper River.

With 8,000 square feet of versatile indoor and outdoor event space, The Cedar Room can accommodate up to 550 guests, with an additional 150-180 seated in the courtyard. The space also features a bridal suite, built-in bar, and warming kitchen for convenience. Led by Executive Chef Tim Pettit, the food and beverage services are dedicated to excellence, offering curated selections of hors d'oeuvres, stations, and seated dinner options.

CORT Events, the nationwide provider of rental furniture for the events, meetings and trade show industry and a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway’s CORT, has announced a partnership with Meeting Professionals International (MPI) for their upcoming World Education Congress (WEC) Vegas – the first large-scale live events industry meeting to be held in Las Vegas since the city reopened. The meeting takes place at the new CAESARS FORUM conference venue from June 15th – 17th with Freeman serving as the general contractor.

 Venue News

Tennessee businessman Tom Boyd recently opened Ancient Lore Village - a uniquely themed event venue tucked away on a 67-acre swath of rolling hills that offers panoramic views of the Smoky Mountains.  With eight unique indoor and outdoor settings to hold meetings or break out sessions, attendees can take in the views of the smokies outdoors while sitting fireside with a lap blanket taking down notes from a presenter. The one-of-a-kind experience is designed entirely around focusing on gathering together and communicating in an environment free from all the distractions of today’s world. Village activities offer attendees a choice of relaxation or activity.
