Hotel ZaZa Offers iStay Deals
The new iStay package from Hotel ZaZa in Dallas offers special incentives to planners booking a meeting or catered event at the property by the end of 2010. Hosts who book an event by Dec. 30 will receive their choice of two of the following: a commission starting at 15 percent; complimentary one-hour ZaZa fall reception; complimentary room of one per 40 paid room nights; two suite upgrades based on availability; 15 percent allowable attrition; 10 percent of AV equipment; and 10 percent of food and beverage. Alternatively, the host may choose 5 percent off the master folio. Group meetings bookings will qualify for iPods, iPhones and iPads, depending on the value of the event. Some restrictions apply.
Andaz 5th Avenue Debuts Event Space
The new event space Apartment 2E, located in the Andaz 5th Avenue in New York, features a residential, home-like layout suitable for events ranging from cocktail parties to business meetings to wedding receptions, management says. The 6,500-square-foot space features an expansive open kitchen and a collection of studios, many with 14-foot factory sash windows overlooking the New York Public Library. Other studios feature access to the hotel's open-air courtyard. All the studio spaces have full AV technology capabilities, complimentary WiFi, sound systems that can be synched to an iPod, open pantries and espresso makers. The space can be configured for groups ranging from 16 up to 400.
Hyatt Place Houston Sugar Land Debuts
Hyatt Place Houston/Sugar Land opened in Sugar Land, Texas, two weeks ago, featuring more than 4,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, according to management. In addition to two indoor meeting rooms comprising 3,050 square feet, event space includes a 1,050-square-foot boardroom with foyer and the 2,000-square-foot outdoor Lakeside Pavilion. The 214-room property is located near attractions including the Houston Galleria, museum district and Houston Zoo. Its lakeside setting has access to a pedestrian bridge and walking/jogging trails.
